范弗里特1994年2月25日出生于美國伊利諾伊州羅克福德，在2016年NBA選秀大會上范弗里特不幸落選。同年7月，范弗里特加盟猛龍隊(duì)，職業(yè)生涯至今先后效力于猛龍和火箭。在2018-19賽季，他幫助猛龍奪得了NBA總冠軍。

本賽季至今，范弗里特代表火箭出戰(zhàn)45場比賽，場均得到14.6分3.9籃板5.8助攻，投籃命中率38.7%，三分命中率34.4%，罰球命中率82.4%。
