有人在巴特勒的壁紙上寫著：“我不干了、付錢給我、清算然后交易！”

此前巴特勒向熱火申請交易，自從2019年7月加盟熱火以來，巴特勒共為熱火打了6個賽季，幫助球隊兩次殺入總決賽，2019-20賽季殺入總決賽但不敵湖人、2022-23賽季以黑馬姿態(tài)重回總決賽但不敵掘金，此外他們在2021-22賽季與綠軍在東決酣戰(zhàn)7場落敗。

目前巴特勒正處在合同中最后一年，本賽季他的薪水為4900萬美元。
